Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data — your name, business name, email, mobile number, GSTIN and billing details when you sign up or pay.
• Business data you enter — customers, vendors, items, invoices, payments, employees and the other records you keep in LedgerLine. You control this data; we process it on your behalf.
• Usage and security data — log-in times, IP address, device type and an audit trail of changes, used to keep accounts secure.
• Location — only when an employee checks in from the app and allows it, stored with that attendance record.

Why we use it

• To provide and secure the service, create your account and send login details.
• To process payments (through Razorpay) and issue tax invoices.
• To send service emails and WhatsApp messages you have switched on (invoices, reminders, payslips).
• To answer support requests and improve the product. We do not sell personal data and do not use your business data for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers needed to run LedgerLine, under confidentiality obligations: payment processing (Razorpay), email delivery (our mail server), WhatsApp Business API providers you connect, the GST e-invoice / e-way bill systems when you generate them, and our hosting provider. We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Business data is kept while your account is active and for 90 days after it is closed, then deleted. Tax invoices we issue to you and payment records are kept for 8 years as required by Indian tax law. Backups roll over within the retention period set for backups (normally 14 days).

Security

Passwords are stored as salted hashes, stored secrets are encrypted, every company has its own database, access is role-based with optional two-factor login, and every change is recorded in an audit log. See Security.

Your rights

You can see and correct your data in the app, export it at any time, and ask us to delete your account. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may also ask us what personal data we hold about you and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Write to our grievance contact at ; we reply within 30 days.

LedgerLine is a business service and is not meant for anyone under 18.
